Steps to apply

Getting started is straightforward. Here's what to expect:

Choose your program

Read information about the course that aligns with your goals.

Apply for your benefits

Submit your application through VA.gov to determine your eligibility and which benefits you can use.

Complete UChicago’s form

Fill out the Veteran Benefit Information and Application Form and send it to veterans@uchicago.edu. Be sure to include a copy of your Certificate of Eligibility or a screenshot of your eBenefits eligibility confirmation.

Apply to your bootcamp

Select your program and apply directly at bootcamp.uchicago.edu.

05

Confirm with OMAC

Work with OMAC to finalize certification and discuss tuition deferment if needed.

Can I use GI Bill® benefits for these bootcamps?

Yes. UChicago accepts Chapter 33 Post-9/11 GI Bill and Chapter 35 DEA benefits for eligible non-credit bootcamp programs.

Do spouses or dependents qualify?

Yes. Spouses and dependents of veterans may be eligible. Contact OMAC at veterans@uchicago.edu for guidance.

How much tuition is covered?

Coverage depends on your benefit tier and bootcamp cost. For example:

  • Post-9/11 GI Bill: One month entitlement covers $2,348.36 in course fees.
  • ‍-Chapter 35 DEA: One month entitlement covers $1,536 in course fees.

Do I need to finish the program?

Yes. You must complete the full bootcamp to qualify for reimbursement.

How do I get reimbursed?

Submit VA Form 22-10272 with proof of enrollment and payment, online via AccessVA or by mail to your Regional Processing Office.
